The Jeffrey Cherbaka Bursary is named after Jeffrey Michael Cherbaka, a young lawyer diagnosed with leukemia who died at the age of 28. To pay him the greatest tribute and to celebrate his determination, ambition and zest for life, his parents, Michèle and Norman Cherbaka, created this endowment fund. Each year, two bursaries are awarded to graduate students and doctors in postgraduate training at the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital to foster the next generation of researchers dedicated to leukemia research.

La bourse Jeffrey Cherbaka doit son nom à Jeffrey Michael Cherbaka, un jeune avocat atteint d’une leucémie qui est décédé à l’âge de 28 ans. Pour lui rendre le plus bel hommage qui soit et pour célébrer sa détermination, son ambition et sa soif de vivre, ses parents Michèle et Norman Cherbaka ont créé ce fonds de dotation en son nom. Chaque année, deux bourses sont remises à des étudiants aux cycles supérieurs et à des médecins en formation postdoctorale à l’hôpital Maisonneuve‑Rosemont, afin d’encourager la relève scientifique vouée à la recherche en leucémie.
